Photos not importing correctly

Hey everyone,

I have a problem that when I import photos, every single time without  fail at least one, if not more, of the photos import like this.

They are fine on the memory card when I view on the camera and before import, then for a split second after import, but then they go like this and there is nothing I can do about it.

Sometimes when I log back on the next day to continue editing, another of the photos that was imported the day before and were fine, will have gone like this as well.

I have tried importing them again with no luck, I have tried new memory cards, with no luck and now I am not sure what else to try...

Can anyone please shed some light on why this is happening and how I fix it please! I am loosing good photos from client shoots because of this issue!

Thanks in advance

Hi David,

I'm sorry I am not sure how to find that... would you be able to let me know where to find it and I can then provide them?

Help > 'System Info' contains the relevant hardware and software details for your computer. You can even copy the info directly from within the System Info window

The preview you see on the back of camera and for a short time after import is the embedded jpeg preview not the raw image itself.

Typically, what you're seeing is due to the file being corrupt. Often, this can be due to a failing memory card or the card reader (includes the cable). However, you mention that the corruption may only appear a day or so later, which suggests that your hard drive / ssd may be failing.
