Question

Photos on both old and new EXD then accidentally back on the old one all in the same cataolg

Towards the beginning of 2023 I replaced my old EHD with a new one, and started to use the new one.  At some point I plugged in the old one and did not unplug it then continued to import and reorganize photos to the new drive, all of this is in one catalog.  Now when I unplug the old drive (black drive 41261 photos )Lightroom thinks they are missing.. then when I unplug the new one (Gray 55042 photos)Lightroom thinks those are missing the same happens whe I use find all missing photos.

If I take a missing photo and try to locate it it tells me associated with another photo in the catalog though it gives me the exact location I am looking on either drive.

I used up date folders location from the smallest to the largest that just made them both the smaller number of photos so I reversed it. 

how can i sort this out?

    You can move images and/or folders in the Lightroom folder panel by dragging and dropping. So connect both drives, and then drag and drop the folders from the old drive to the new drive in order to move them from the old drive to the new drive.
