Question

Photos showing in all synced photos don't appear in Lightroom on the browser, nor on phone app

Hello all,

I have a problem with syncing my imported images to mobile and web.
Lightroom program (Windows) shows all photos synced as they should be.
All synced photos show the latest photos as being synced and the app shows the green check mark, with all up to date. But they don't appear either in the app on the phone nor on the browser.
What could be going on there?
LR Classic version 13.5.1

Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2, OS build 22621.4317
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Import raw photos to LR Classic, converting to DNG on import.
2. Added to a synced collection on import
3.. Syncing activity shows
4. Photos appear in All synced photos
5.. Photos do not appear on the mobile app or web browser

I have tried removing a couple of photos from that synced collection and then adding them to a different synced one. No change. They show as syncing in the new collection but don't appear in the app or browser.

I have tried deleting (renaming) the sync.lrdata folder but no change.

The Sync Activity window in preferences is blank.

All photos edited in LR from the phone do sync back to Classic as expected.

While there are a few syncing errors from files many years ago, this has never caused a problem and these are current images that are failing to sync.

I am stumped. I would appreciate any suggestions. Or should I contact customer support?

Thanks

Ellie

Hey, @10918430. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic community. Thanks for sharing the steps you've already taken. Where do you keep your catalog on an internal or external drive? Are any of these Smart Previews missing the original files?

Log in to Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/3uv2zCA), look for the Sync Issues category near the Deleted section on the left part of the screen, and delete any images with Sync issues. If you have a backup of these images, you can clear them out and delete them from the deleted section.

You can clear the Deleted Tab in Lightroom Web to iron out underlying sync issues & once you clear them out, let Lightroom Classic run for a while to let it resolve most of the issues.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

@Sameer K

Thanks for the reply. The catalogue is on an internal drive.

I have followed all of those steps with no success.

I spent hours the day before yesterday with tech support trying to solve the issue and honestly, they don't know what to do.. They had me create duplicate catalogues (2 of them), requiring then the download of 9000+ previously synced photos into the newly created catalogue with 3 photos, or the import of 82,000+ photos (when they imported the original catalogue into the 2nd new one). Hours of work with no change. It's feeling like a mess, honestly. In the sense that I can't get imported camera files to sync to the cloud. Mobile photos sync to the cloud, but not down to classic.

Sync activity window shows activity (screenshot) but no movement sometimes, while at the same time the sync activity dialogue shows all synced. (Screenshot). The images that should be synced (in a sync collection) show that they are pending sync, but they do not.

I am beginning to despair. I am supposed to chat again, but each time we start the same process over and though they access my computer, in the end they can't fix it.

Cheers

Ellie

What if I were to remove each of those files from 'all synced photographs (see screenshot attached)'? What would happen? Would they disappear altogether? Or what? @Sameer K
