Picture not in library after noise reduction

Hi,

When I run the AI-driven noise reduction function, LrC seems to do the job. However, when finished, it shows an empty screen, and not the end result as I used to get. Only with Cmd-Z I get the picture back (the original, not the denoised)

After various attempts, I decided to check Finder and see what has happened. Apparently the new picture has been created, at least I assume the file with <name>-Verbeterd-NR.dng is the new file (verbeterd = improved), Unfortunately the file does not show in my LrC library.

Anyone?

Thanks!

Mariëlle

Hi Sean,

Tried option 2, but the referenced file com.adobe.LightroomClassicCC7.plist  is not on my computer.

Option 1 did not have any effect either.

Yes, it is on your computer. Lightroom Classic always creates it. You are probably looking in the wrong place. There are two 'Library' folders. One is visible at the root of your disk, but that is not the correct one. The correct one is in your Home folder, but it is invisible by default. Press Command-Shift-H to open your home folder; go to View->Show View Options (or press Command-J); check the box to show Library folder.

To check if the enhanced images are really not in Lightroom, right-click on their folder and choose 'Synchronize Folder'. Does Lightroom say there are new images, and if you go ahead import them?

Hi Johan,

they are physically on my computer, and syncing the folder works .... but I would expect the enhanced picture immediately in my library

Make sure you've no filters applied.

The English version of the Denoise file has Enhanced-NR on it, so I assume the file you've found is the equivalent.

Does a search via the Text filters bar for Verbeterd show anything?

Hi Sean, thank you for your response.

I checked the filter 'Verbeterd' (Enhanced) and it shows some older pictures that were enhanced. However, new pictures are not in the library, but do exist in the same folder in Finder...

It looks as if LrC 13.0.1 and Sonoma do not interact so well regarding the library ... I recently upgraded from iMac late 2015 with MacOs 12.0, which ran functionally ok. After upgrading to Sonoma I get several issues ... see also Files are importing to wrong location

Have you backed up and reset Preferences?

Look at the location in Method 2 and copy the preferences file somewhere safe. Then use any method to reset them.

If the issue is still there, restore the old prefernces file and restart Lightroom..
