Question

Poor color quality when printing with LRC 12.0

I use both Lightroom Classic (12.0) and Photoshop 24.0. I cannot get good print quality in LRC. I have to edit the image in Photoshop and print from there using a printer profile. I have a Canon Pixma Pro 100. I get a good quality print using Photoshop that is true to image color. Using the same image, printer profile, same printer and same paper, I get washed out colors when printing directly in LRC. There is no "Black Point Compensation" option in LRC which is the only difference I can see in LRC.

If setup correctly, the Print module and printing the same image in Photoshop will be identical. This isn't a BPC issue.

You should always test output using good color reference images designed for that task. The color reference images' RGB values are such that they are set for output and are editing and display agnostic. Test the output this way and examine for the same color issues so we know it's not your image-specific issues causing the problems:

Start from scratch in LR and create a new user Print Template with every possible setting (for print driver and within LR's module), and try again. When printing, always have the driver itself set for Presets: Default Settings, NOT one you created and can use in Photoshop! ALL settings are stored in a template in LR; they all have to be correct, meaning everything you can configure in the print driver outside a saved preset in the print driver.
