Poor stitching of panoramas in LR Classic

The stitching of some panoramas actually doesn't work. Moreover, this panorama can be stitched, for example, by PTGUI or Autopano. Moreover, LR response is unstable - then it can't stitch the panorama at all, then only 2 out of 4 photos, and so on. I would like to debug this useful function!

Interesting. Neither Lightroom nor Photoshop are able to merge the first photo with the following three. I've done many, many panoramas in both programs, and I don't see anything unusual about these four photos that should trip the two programs.

 

Here's what PS produces with the Cylindrical option:

 

However, selecting the PS options Cylindrical and Geometric Distortion Correction produces a good result:
