Preset error

I tried to import some presets like I always do, but they aren't showing up anywhere.  I've checked systems, preference, presets, but nothing seems wrong. I've restarted my mac and made sure my lightroom classic was up to date. When I try to import again, it says unable to import because they have already been imported?!? Can anyone help me?

1. In the Presets panel, right-click the group "User Presets" and do Reset Hidden Presets.  Expand each preset group by clicking the triangle to the left of it.  Do you see the new presets?

2. The .xmp files may be profiles rather than develop presets. Or they may be develop presets referring to profiles that haven't been imported into your LR, in which case a bug in LR causes them to remain hidden. To diagnose this, in Finder, right-click one of the .xmp files, do Open With, and select TextEdit. Copy/paste the contents of the file into your reply here, and we can figure out what's what.
