Preset is not showing after importing / already imported

Hi all!

I want to import a couple of presets, but 8 of the 12 don’t show in Lightroom. When I try to re-import, I get the message they’ve already been imported.

I've looked through every preset folder, its not a profile preset, they are all XMP, checked show partially visible presets is clicked, and countless other things and they just are not showing up. I have synchronizes my profile, there are no incorrect characters in the names, checked display partially compatible development presets.

Is it possible that the presets are ‘old’? I am out of options...

Hi @Dynamic_dayf63e — just following up on Johan's answer above, because it really is the key point here: the presets themselves are normal presets, but a preset can still apply a profile, and Lightroom hides any preset whose profile is not installed. That also fits your case — your friend has that profile installed, so all 12 show for her.

One thing worth trying: ask your friend (or the shop where she bought them) for the profile files that came with the pack, and import those too via File > Import Develop Profiles and Presets. Once the missing profile is in, the other 8 presets should appear.

Did that bring them back?
