Preset Issue?

Windows 11 and Lightroom Classic...all updated.

I import my NEF files into Lightroom and when viewed on the filmstrip appear one way and yet once selected, they flip to a darker version of the image. Trying to understand why? When it happens, I can click History and it shows White Balance As Shot and then the time and date of the import. Why is this white balance as shot appearing? I checked the import settings and Develop Settings are set to None.

This is a known bug. AFAIK, it only occurs if you import with 'Embedded & sidecar' as previews setting, so change it to 'Standard-sized Previews'.

More research:

Camera WB is set to Natural light auto. I changed to White Balance Auto and now the image when viewed in filmstrip does NOT change and the History now shows only the date and time of import.
