presets not clickable/applicable

Question

I can see my presets and when I go over them I also see a preview, but I cannot select them and apply them to a photo. First time I have come across this and have been using LR for over 10 years. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

This is a fairly common problem, and most people fix it by resetting LR's preferences:

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.
