Prevent Newly Saved JPEGs to be saved to Lightroom Catalog

Question

So when I get a photo from Lightroom Classic and "Edit in Photoshop", do my edits there and Save the final product in a completely different folder and drive, it automatically adds it to the original Collection that the original photo came from. How can I prevent this? Any help would be appreciated.

In Photoshop, don't use "Save as" to save the image as a jpeg, but use "Export as". That should prevent Lightroom from adding it to the catalog. Then discard the Photoshop image if you also don't want the psd/tiff in your catalog.

I think there's no option to prevent this.

A workarounf can be to export the appropriate image for ex. as a TIFF. In the export settings you can let the exported image automatically open it in Photoshop. After editing you can save it as a JPEG without added to the LR catalog.

I know it isn't very handy, but I see it as the only option at the moment.
