Preview unavailable for this file - Do I need to upgrade?

Hi,

I have been shooting in jpegs recently with my new Canon 5DM4 and loading the images onto my IMac computer (10.9.5) in LR version 5.5 with no problems.  Just got back from a job that I shot in RAW and I just get little grey boxes that state " Preview unavailable for this file?" Help!  I need to get this job to my client asap.  Is this an issue of this version not reading my new Canon and I need to update?

Thank you LR community!

Julien

Thank you Jim, you are an angel!  That is what I was afraid of but I also had a recent issue with tethering with the new camera so it is time up get the 6.  Do you know off hand if I can use up to 2 computers with the new purchased update?

Cheers

Your camera requires Lightroom 6 .7 or newer. The latest update is Lightroom 6 .13. Lightroom 6 is an upgrade that must be purchased, and then you can update 6.0 and get the latest update to bring it to 6.13. The free alternative would be to download the free DNG converter and convert the images to the DNG format which you can edit in the version that you have now. Your choice, but you're going to have to do something different.

Yes, the license stipulates two concurrent installations.
