Previous edits gone after reinstall

Hello! Maybe someone could help me figure this one out: I had to reinstall my windows after fixing computer, which means Lightroom as well. Now after selecting my old catalog I have lost ALL of my previous edits. How do I try, and maybe succeed, restoring them?

Did you import photos into the catalog? What are the exact steps you followed? (Please describe step-by-step, leaving nothing out)

Hi, I haven't re-imported photos, only selected the same old catalog. Then I have tried re-importing some of the photos because I thought that might fix it, but it didn't. Because the old catalog (v12) was saved on a different drive I have pointed lightroom to that catalog after launching it, and that's all (File->Open Catalog). Hope this makes sense..

If you did not re-import the photos (correct decision, by the way) then you have selected the wrong catalog file. Use your operating system's search features to find all files whose named ends with .LRCAT and open each one until you find the one that shows the edits.
