Question

Printing to canon pro 300 from LRC - problem

Hi,

I'm new to the forum but not to Lightroom or to Canon printers.  Still, I have a problem.  My old Canon Pro 100 gave up the ghost, and I've replaced it with a Pro300.  I am working from an iMac running Sequoia 15.x.

The printer is on the network, and I've installed the correct cups driver and ICC Profiles.  When I send an image to the printer from LR, I get an Error 88 message indicating a paper size and type mismatch.  Shouldn't LR be transmitting information to the printer to override what appears on the printer screen?  What's my next step?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @NohoPhoto! 👋 Welcome to the community!

What version of Lightroom Classic are you using? It would also be super helpful if you could share a screenshot of your print settings in LrC and let us know what paper size you're trying to print. Thanks a bunch!

Best, Alek

Hi Alek,

Thanks for replying.

My Lightroom version is up to date. The print I was trying to send to the printer is 11 x 14. I’ll respectfully pass on sending my print setting given that they are the settings that I’ve used for many years, and I really don’t think that’s the source of the problem. Lightroom has the correct paper size and paper profile. The error message from the printer concerns a mismatch with what appears on the printer’s little screen.

This does have me thinking about the printer setting that’s checked to detect a mismatch. I assumed that that was a setting that would be overridden if print data came from Lightroom,p but maybe not. I’ll turn it off and see what happens.
