Problem exporting files from LrC to PureRaw 4 and 5 on Mac

Hello,

I'm using LrC ( 14.3.1) and DXO PureRaw 4 and 5 (trial) on my intel based MacBook Pro.

I can bring pictures into PR by clicking on Files - Plug-in-Extras - PureRaw

but no more by right-mouse click to the image and choose export - PureRaw.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled DXO PureRAW several times without any better result.

I also asked a few colleagues and they can do it by right click- export without any problems.

the plug-ins of PureRaw are properly installed into ...Adobe/Lightroom/modules

the support of DXO has no idea what could be wrong.

does anyone have an idea what I could try next or does anyone have the same problem ?

best regards Robert

Hi @RobbyW Thank you for reaching out! We're here to help!

Could you please share some more info like what is the version of your operating system, and when did you start seeing this issue? Did you make any changes to the system or after an update? It would be helpful if you could share the screenshots where you right-click and choose the plugin to export as well as any image with which the problem is associated. You can share via Google Drive, WeTransfer, or another public file-sharing platform with your response.

While we wait for your reply. You can try out these troubleshooting steps and see if it fixes your issue:

Check Plug-in Manager

You may refer to this article for help Troubleshoot Plug-ins in LrC

Check "Store Presets with Catalog" Setting : In Lightroom, go to Preferences → Presets and make sure "Store Presets with Catalog" is unchecked. This setting can interfere with plug-in visibility.

You can try resetting your Lightroom Classic preferences with the help of this helpx article: Reset Preferences in LrC but make sure to back them up if they are crucial to your workflow by copying the preferences file to a safe location. Go to /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.LightroomClassicCC7.plist. If you need to restore your preferences, simply copy the backed-up file back to its original location, replacing the existing file.

Alternative Workflow

Continue using File → Plug-in Extras → PureRaw or drag-and-drop RAW files from Lightroom onto the PureRaw icon in your Dock as a workaround

Let us know how it goes! Cheers!

Hi Noel,

first of all, thank you for your help ! I will try to. answer your questions as good as possible.

The MacOS is Sequoia 15.5 (24F74), which should be curent.

The only changes I did was to move the pictures / raws to an external SSD and created Smart-Previews. But I cannot tell exactly if this was the point the problem began.

A Reset of the Lightroom Preferences was already tried.

The first screenshot I've added shows the problem. There is no DXO PR5 in the list of Export.Options. The second one shows how it is doing well, but for me this is too circuitous to go to the pulldown menu and chose File - Plugin-Extras-DXO...

The other informaiton on problems with plugins sadly doesn't help me.

Many thanks for further help !

Robert

Hi @RobbyW! Thank you for providing more information on this! I appreciate the effort.

Good to know that the applications and the OS is up-to-date. That's a good start. You mentioned that a reset of the preferences was tried and did not work, did you check the other steps stated in the previous reply as well ? Assuming that they didn't work lets head on to further troubleshooting.

Allow Permissions to LrC and PureRAW 4 and 5 on you Mac. (Provide both File and Folders and Full Disk Access) You may refer to this Helpx article for steps and further information.Allow Permissions to Lightroom Classic on macOS

*The link has steps for LrC, but you can use the same for PureRAW as well. Also, If LrC and PureRAW 4 and 5 is not available in the list of applications, you can add them by clicking the (+) button and navigating to the Applications folder on macOS.*

Restart your MAC for the changes to take effect then relaunch LrC and check the export menu.

Address Potential Conflict Between PureRAW 4 and 5 (Trial): While you mentioned having both, and that the plug-ins are in the correct folder, there's a chance they might conflict in how they register the "Export" functionality. Consider temporarily uninstalling DxO PureRAW 4 (if your main goal is to use PureRAW 5 trial, or vice versa). Make sure to use the official DxO uninstaller if one is provided.

Test with a New Lightroom Catalog: This can help determine if the problem is with your current catalog.

1) Go to File > New Catalog....
2) Create a new catalog on your internal drive (for testing purposes).
3) Import a few RAW files directly into this new catalog (not from the external SSD initially, just to simplify).
4) Right-click on an image and check if the "Export > DxO PureRAW" option appears. If it does, the issue might be related to your primary catalog's preferences or corruption.

You can refer to this Helpx article as well for more information. Troubleshoot Adobe Lightroom Classic problems, issues, or bugs

Try these and let us know how it goes !

Cheers!
