Problem transferring files from LR to PS

I am using LR Classic 6 and CS6. My usual workflow consists of processing images in LR and sending them to PS for final work and disposition. But when I import files from a DVD or CD into LR, process them, and attempt to then send them to PS it will not be allowed. What do I have to do to permit my usual workflow when the starting images are coming from a dvd or cd?

Did you use ADD or COPY when you imported from the CD.  You should use COPY to your HD.  I just tried this in my MAC using ADD from a CD-R from a networked drive on Windows XP(there is a reason for the XP machine)  as I have never tried to import using ADD from a CD or DVD and I could ADD to Lightroom.  Not sure what happens if it not an R CD or DVD.  I do know that at one time a LONG time ago I copied some photos from a CD (not R) to the HD and I could not save back to the file using Elements because it had a "read only" marker in the file system so I had to change it to "read/write" on the hard disk.

I would use the OS to copy the files to the HD, check the read/write marker to make sure it is not read-only and import from the HD.

What do you mean by "it will not be allowed"? Describe what happens in detail. If there is an error message, please quote the exact complete unedited word-for-word error message.

I put a CD into the drive, imported the oriole image (which is a TIF file) into LR, make some adjustments, and attempt to move it from LR to PS with the edits, and then I get this statement saying it cannot be done. I don't recall if I tried doing this with a RAW file, converting it to a DNC and then trying the same move but it seems I should be able to do it with any imported file.
