I am an old man who is having great difficuly exporting photos in Classic. 1, I would prefer to export in tiff. 2, when I export the jpg files open in LR. The person I am trying to send to does not have LR. When I try to open a file in opens LR. How can I export in tiff and in such a way it does not need LR? i am becoming very frustrated. I must be doing something wrong but I am stumped. Please help.

    Hi @Tomoday   More information please.

Confirm you are using Lightroom-Classic [LrC]

What is your reference to "LR"? Do you mean the 'Cloud' version simply called "Lightroom LR"?

"How can I export in tiff and in such a way it does not need LR?"

File-type for TIF is set in the export dialog > File Settings panel > Image Format: ...

TIF or JPG files both should be easily 'visible' to anyone, even without a Lightroom app.

Explain "When I try to open a file in (it) opens LR."- what do you see?  Which LR app? How do you "Open a file"?

Post a screen-clip of your Export dialog (full-screen) --insert using the [Insert Photos] icon above your post.

    Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
