Problem with mask tool

When I click on the mask tool icon in Lightroom classic,I can't open anything else on my Imac.

So I have LR classic open,I'm in developer mode,click on "mask".

Then I want to open safari but it won't work.

When I go back in LR and deselect the mask tool,evrything is back to normal.

What is going on?

Try collapsing the People section of the tool by clicking on the triangle:

If that doesn't help, then please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

The thing with the triangle didn't work.

When I select the litlle circle "mask" everything stays ok but from the moment I choose sky or persons the problem is there.

That's a 4-year-old graphics chip with 8 GB of graphics memory, so I don't think you're experiencing the issue with older Macs I linked to above.

 

You could try settings Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off. I don't think that will make a difference, since the AI masking tools don't obey that setting. But it's simple to try.
