Problème de Sauvegarde LRC depuis version 14.5/ Problem with backup since 14.5

Bonjour,

(Since the version 14.5 I can't make a backup)

( I checked the way to the backup, I have enough place of the harddrive, I delete the previews)

(Back to the old version 14.4)

(with the latest version 14.5.1, I have still the problem with the backups)

Retour à la version 14.4

(back again the 14.4)

This is a regularly reported issue, cause by catalog corruption. What you could try is this: Create a brand new catalog and choose 'File - Import from Another Catalog'. Select your old catalog to import. In the import dialog choose to import all photos, but do not move them. This will create an exact copy of your old catalog, but usually without the corruption. The only thing that won't come across is any publishing services you may have. You will have to recreate those. If you synced your catalog then you will have to enable sync for the new catalog. There are some reports that this could cause a problem. Here’s how to solve that: https://www.danhartfordphoto.com/blog/2025/1/lr026-fixing-sync-problems-caused-by-switching-the-sync-catalog

Since the update to Lightroom Classic 14.5 my backup on exit fails with the error. Lighrroom was unable to backup the catalog named XXX .... Please check your folder permissions etc.

This happens right at the end after the catalog has been checked, optimised, coppied and the backup compressed. Of course I have checked the folder permissions (happens on any destination) and that there is sufficient free space.

I have two large catalogs in active use (personal and work) and the error has appeared on both catalogs starting with this Lr Classic update. I am now on 14.5.1 and the error still occurs. It seems unlikely to me that if this is related to a problem in the catalog that they would pass the integrity test and then both suddenly have a problem at exactly the same time. IE. After the 14.5 version update.

Windows 11 Pro 24H2. Build 26100.4946.

Intel Core Ultra 265, Nvidia RTX 5070, 64GB

Lightroom Classic 14.5.1

A note: Somebody who had the same issue, could not get the catalog imported when using Lightroom Classic 14.5. It did work when he downgraded to 14.4. After that, he could backup the catalog, also after updating to 14.5 again.
