Problems authorizing Lightroom Classic with Facebook Publish Service

When I attempt to publish a photo to my Facebook albums via Lightroom Classic's Publish Service I get a message saying LR can't update album or connect to FB. When I go to Edit Settings in the FB Publish Service the Publishing Manager says Not Authorized. I go thru the steps to reauthorize which takes me to FB and get confirmation that the plugin is now authorized. Going back to the Publishing Manager the Save button is grayed out and it tells me my account is not Authorized.

Going over to the Plugin Manager, I disable and then re-enable the plugin. It says the plugin in now running. Back to the Publishing Manger and attempt to Authorize. Back to FB, reauthorize on their end then back to LR which says Not Authorized. Back to the Plugin Manager to reload plugin. Repeat the authorization process but still can't get LR to recognize the authorization.

I have quit and started LR several time. I removed the plugin from FB and reloaded it. It shows up in my App Settings page. I've logged in and out of FB. I'm working on a Mac with High Sierra OS, using Safari as my browser. Problem arose yesterday when attempting to upload a new picture to an existing album. Any advice?

Same issue with Lightroom Classic...

As it is already in latest rev (v6.14) I can't update to get this fixed !!

I have changed from Firefox to Chrome, cleared cache, reinstalled plug-in with no luck...

Any other idea ?

I'd hate to move away from LR like I had to with Aperture...

Until Adobe and Facebook get together again to update the API like they have in the past, the only workaround is to set up an export folder going to your hard drive instead of to Facebook.  Then manually post from that folder to Facebook.

Thanks dicentral,

I already did that, I only found it quicker from within LR...

I was also fearing this feature was removed for v6.14 users to incite moving to LR Classic CC...

I found that I had to delete and readd the FB profile to make it work. Have you tried that?

Yes, I had tried that too.  Nothing worked until the latest update.  It is working now.

I have the same problem.  I have tried setting different browsers as default but with every attempt clicking on authorize does nothing.  It used to work, but I upgraded my machine recently with a clean install.  My photos and settings were retained (on a separate drive) so lightroom knew about the services I had previously set up, but wouldn't let them work.  Is anyone looking at these posts?

The most recent update to Lightroom CC Classic fixed the problem.

I have the same problem - discovered it last week and nothing I've tried has helped.

I am having the same issue.  I had published albums one morning, later in the day I no longer had authorization.  I have done every single thing recommended to fix issues including reinstalling Lightroom 6 and going through the update again to 6.14

.  I have worked on this for 3 days without help and I see Adobe support never offers help.

Hi I am having exact same problem.  Cannot get the authorization button to bring me anywhere - it should open the default browser (which I switched twice ) on facebook but nothing happens.  I have gone in to Facebook where LR is approved and ticked off .  Still cant set it up.   Smugmug was set up SO easily !!  Why this difficulty that appears to date back to 2015 on Google searches.  very frustrating.  Any Advice ????
