Problems Importing presets

I just got a new Mac and I am trying to import my old presets. They are not xmp files since they are older presets I've created. I've tried importing them from the preset tab that allegedly coverts them into xmp files and I've tried adding them to the camera raw folder individually. No matter how many times I've tried restarting and re-importing they will not show up in my presets in the develop tab.
