Problems installing LR 6 on Win 11

I just did a clean install update to Win 11.

I have a valid serial# for L6 and I'm getting errors.  I downloaded the installer and I was able to install it.  I have a desktop icon and the program list from control panel says it's version 6.14.  The problem is when I try to start the app I get  a window saying it will sign me in using my Adobe ID (which is correct) , then I get an error saying my serial number is correct but a qualifing product could not be found.

My LR license is listed on my adobe account.

Then it says select a previous version and lists LR 1-5 as choices.  I may have owned one of the earlier versions but I only have my LR 6 serial#.

Any help getting this installed and working would be great.

Was your install source, perhaps a CD, a upgrade copy?

I was able to locate my original LR retail package (DVD) and used the serial# from it along with the serial# from my LR6 upgrade (download from Adobe) and got it to work.

I upgraded so why should I need the original serial number again?  The error was not at all clear that that was required.

anyway, it's running now...

This is normal behavior. Your LR6 installation DVD is a update version. This got you for an reduced price. The installer will check if you are eligible for the update. It search a previous version on your hard disk. If nothing will be found it ask for the serial number of the previouns version.
