Problems Transferring FlightRadar24 KML & CSV to GPX & Lightroom Classic

The FlightRadar24 KML files aren't tracklogs containing trackpoints, such as produced by GPS receivers, which is what LR and other geotagging applcations expect. Rather, they contain timestamped "waypoints". Seems a little strange that FlightRadar24 does this, but maybe they have some legitimate reason.

It took a bit to find the proper GPSBabel magic incantation to convert the waypoints to trackpoints: Flightradar 24 FR24 klm to gpx files - Garmin Forums .

So to convert the KML waypoints to GPX tracklogs, use these GPSBabel settings and then click on Filters:

Use these settings in Filters:

When you click OK, you should see this command line at the bottom of the GPSBabel window (but with different filenames, of course):

Then load the GPX file into LR with Map > Tracklog > Load Tracklog.  If your computer is running in time zone PDT (UTC - 7), then you don't need to fiddle with the Map > Tracklog > Set Time Zone Offset Command. Just select the photo(s) in the filmstrip and do Map > Tracklog > Auto Tag Photos.
