Have version 8.0 Lr Classic.  When using the adjustment brush to make changes and using key O so as to see where brush is making changes the screen goes black and upper left corner of app "not responding".  Have tried checking and unchecking graphics processor, but same problem.  But if I do not use the key O then there is no problem.  ????`

What happens if you check the box on the Tool Bar (instead of using the O key)?  Does the problem occur the same?

If Overlay by any method is problematic then maybe a re-set of preferences or a full re-install of Lightroom could help.

It's happening even without having used the O key. If I restart LR it

doesn't happen for a while, but then starts up again. ?

Sounds more like a problem with the Video card driver-

See the answer in Post#3 from Rickk Flohr at bug? photo doesn't show in develop module after import
