Problems with Color Management and Pixma pro 9000MkII

Hi

I am having problems
installing a Canon Pixma pro 9000 MkII in Lightroom 6.14 (Win 10)

Everything works fine if I
set the proof copy profile to "Canon pro900 MkII" in the develop
module and "Adobe
RGB" in Color Management in the print module (with
"Manual" and "Driver Matching" in the driver dialog box)

If I try to set Color
Management in the print module to "Canon pro900 MkII"

I get a very pronounced Cyan
cast (this happens however I set "Manual" in the driver box
(including "None")

This has nothing to do with
monitor calibration as it can also be seen in the print preview box on the same
monitor as the develop module proof.

All ideas gratefully
received!

Keith

Sorry, I missed that.

I'm sorry, but I can not continue to try to help you since you are not commenting on the questions asked and are not carrying out the steps requested.

I hope you can fix it.

At last I have found the solution to the problem. Also to another one I had (I was getting partial prints before the printer ejected the paper)

On another forum I was following the partial print problem and discovered that ticking the "Print Preview" box could be the culprit.

Un-ticking it has solved both problems but it is important to re-boot after doing so and before attempting to print again

It does appear that ticking the "Print Preview" box causes the driver to ignore manual settings to give "double profiling" AND confuse the print spooler!

This has nothing to do with monitor calibration

Don't know if this affects all or just my combination of Win 10 (build 16299.192), LR 6.14, Canon driver (latest from Canon support), pro 9000 Mk II

Hope this is of help to others

Keith

I personally found that the Canon Print Preview does not show what really is printed, at least not on my Wide-Gamut monitor (probably since its not fully color managed).

Make sure the printer driver settings are all set to off, since Canon drivers have a lot of setting to change the print brightness, color, ... and what not.

I'm also using a Canon printer with color management in LR with Canon profiles for Canon paper and self-created profiles for other paper. The results are very good.

Since you already mentioned it: How did you calibrate your monitor?

What is the exact version (numbers, not 'latest' or alike) of your Lightroom?

What is the brand and type of your monitor?

Printing issues are mostly due to misaligned/ miscalibrated monitors.

I definitely have all color management turned off in the printer driver as you can see from these screen grabs

and

These settings give the problem but should not. I am aware of the "dual profiling" issue and a magenta cast. It is as though the driver is not taking any notice of the manual settings.

I am certainly not one to tell others how to print. I use a Canon Pixma Pro-100. I turn off color management for the printer and then in Lightroom I choose a paper profile (not something like Adobe RGB). I get my profiles from either Canon or Red River, and I soft proof using those paper profiles. Prints usually match very well.
