Problems with renaming raw and jpg

Hello,

I use Lightroom classic since a short time, but I have problems to rename raw and jpg:

I shoot raw and jpg and the fotos have the same filename out of the camera, only the extensions differs (raw vs jpg).

I import the files as "treat raw and jpf as seperate files", as I have done in Lightroom 6 too.

If I renamed the files in Lithroom 6, with "date_sequenznumer_text" the raw and jpgs got the same sequenznumber, to show that they are the same foto, once in raw the other in jpg.

Now in Lightroom 12 I do this all in the same way, but now the jpg gets the next squenznumber, so if it does not belong to the raw.

I would like to have the same Sequenznumber to both, the raw and the jpg, but I do not want to treat them in a stapel.

Please can you help me, what I do wrong? PS I am useing Win10.

    I would use 'Original File Number Suffix' instead of sequence number if I were you. These are different files (you told Lightroom to treat them this way), so it is completely logical that using a sequence number in a file rename operation will not give the raw file and the jpeg the same sequence number. If Lightroom 6 did that, then that was a bug.

      Its a good idea, but the suffix will not really good work for me, because I want to combine photos from phone and more then one camera. If I will use the suffix, the photos will not be ordered in the right squence of time.

      I would be sorry, if that was a bug in Lightroom 6, because it worked very well for me.

       

      By this side: Adobe Bridge works like LR6 and give the raw and jpg the same sequenznumber...  if it is not possible to do this in lightroom12, then I have to order und rename the photos in Bridge and then import to LR.

      Of course they will be, because you still start the new name with the capture date. My suggestion is not to only use the number suffix, but to use your renaming template where sequence is replaced by number suffix, so the new name becomes 'date-number suffix-text".
