Question

Profiles suddenly disapppering.

Something quite strange happened...

I was in the middle of a session in Lightroom Classic when, just having finishing processing a photo and moving to the next one, suddenly, my Canon R V2 camera profiles went missing, leaving all "User Presets" based on those profiles showing in Italic.

Any ideas as to what happened and how may I recover the profiles?

(Lightroom Classic Version 9.0)

Thanks.

...Hmmm!...I am starting to wonder....

Adobe came up with a initial set of camera profiles for the Canon R that were just horrific.

In a very short time, they came up with V2 of the profiles for the same camera.

Until now both set of profiles coexisted in the program.

Maybe Adobe decide to retire the original set, rename the V2 set just "Camera Matching" and, since the program is always connected to Adobe, this adjustment was an automatic one, without further warning.

Could this be it...?

Also, are you talking Presets as shown in the Presets panel top left, or Profiles from Basic Panel area near top right?

(...No, I just work with CR2 files in LR, so no JPEGs...)

I am talking both.

The Canon R camera profiles V2 reside in the Profiles section, top right.

The User Presets reside in the Presets section, top left.

Since there are some User Presets I've created that include the now missing camera profiles, they show up in Italic and the message "! Profile Misssing" shows in the Profile section, when any of those User Presets is selected.

I can't understand how this happned, just going from one photo to the next one...

Was perhaps the previous photo RAW and the current photo JPEG?
