Question: Identify People without a visible face

Hi,

I have a question regarding the People feature using the automatic face recognition:

I woul like to tag all the pictures in which a certain person appears. Using the Named People (shortcut O) and the Face Recogintion feature does a great job.

However, I have many pictures in which that person's face is not directly visible. I see two option:

  1. Adding a simple Keyword manually, but then those pictures would not appear in the Named People tab.
  2. Adding a "Draw Face Region" (Photo > People > Draw Face Region) manually. The question is: is there a risk to mess up the face recognition algoritm by doing so?

I've been doing this for years on my main catalog with tens of thousands of faces, and I haven't noticed any problems with recognizing faces of existing people. But maybe others have had different experience...

LOL. I assume that selecting their butt works best if there is no visible face?

(Sorry, I could not resist it)

😊

Kind of! I must admit, many of those "portraits" are environmental (or landscape) portraits with the subject facing awy of the camera. However, I've tagged the back of their heads with the hope not confusing Sensei too much. He's already lost with identical twins, poor Sensei...
