Radial Filter causes my screen to turn black

Something has gone wrong with my Radial Filter in Lightroom CC. When I click on the tool and then on my image the entire screen goes black and all I see is a faint outline of a white circle. Anyone know what I need to reset to get the Radial Filter to just create a mask in a circle and leave the image as is on the screen?

First, reset the Radial Filter settings by clicking Reset at the bottom of the panel (not the Reset at the bottom of the LR window).

If that doesn't help, try unchecking the option Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor.

Thanks so much John for your time and expertise. Option 1 worked perfectly!!! Be careful or I will ask you 1000 more questions. Not really....
