Radial Filter = Preloads adjustments

Hi all,

One of the tools I often use in Lightroom Classic is the Radial Filter.  I generally use it to increase the exposure on faces.  However, anytime I click on the tool and apply it to a new image, it "pre-loads" certain adjustments every time (i.e. Exposure +0.3, White Balance Temp, etc.).  I have to manually select each field and type in 0 before I can start making the adjustments I want.

Can someone please tell me how to ensure that the tool ALWAYS resets to 0?  I don't see these settings anywhere.

Many thanks!

From my notes-   Steps 6. and 7. best answer the OP's question.

    Methods for adjusting sliders-

    1. Place cursor on the slider pointer and holding the left mouse button  drag left/right.

    2.  [click] mouse cursor in the ‘amount’ box and type a value..

    3. Hover cursor over ‘amount’ box and hold left-mouse button to activate a “scrubby” slider-drag mouse left-right to drag the slider.

    4. [double-click] the slider name to reset a single slider to zero.  Eg. [double-click] on “exposure” to reset exposure.

    5. (In Global Basic Panel only- [shift+double-click] on a slider name to let lightroom “auto-adjust” the slider.)

    6. Reset all the tool sliders to zero-  [double-click] the “Effect:” label.

    7. To set a tool default to "all Zero"- Open a Tool,  [double-click] the “Effect:” label, Close the Tool.

*But to maintain the "all zero" default you must always Draw the adjustment with the Tool first, then make the slider changes and close the tool.

All the local adjustment tools work the same way. If you change the sliders before you apply the filter or brush, the position of the sliders becomes the new default. So go into the Radial Filter, set all the sliders to zero, and then draw the ellipse on the image. All future RF's will start out with the sliders zeroed.

Posted over two years ago, still helped me greatly.  It no doubt comes from my laziness that I did not find this earlier.  Still, thanks for posting this.
