The Adobe Standard camera profile metrics were "silently" changed by Adobe sometime in Q3 2014. All  camera models introduced after Q3 2014 have Adobe Standard profiles with lower color saturation and contrast. In short it looks like Adobe has changed the "standard." It's unlikely they will "fix" these profiles since it appears to have been done on purpose. The best solution is to use a ColorChecker Passport and create new profiles for ALL of your camera models both old and new to match them. There's no guarantee that will be perfect either since the current Adobe profile is used as the "Base Profile" when using the X-Rite plugin or DPE.

I created a "legacy" 5D MKIV Adobe Standard camera profile that matches the rendering of the pre-2014 Sept. profiles including the Canon 7D.

Dropbox - Canon EOS 5D MKIV Legacy Adobe Standard.dcp - Simplify your life

Place the camera profile in the below folder location and then restart LR to load it.

    Windows—C: \ Users \ [your username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe \ CameraRaw \ CamereProfiles

    Mac—Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / CamerapProfiles

    Hi WILLPHOTO11,

Sorry that your images from the Canon 5DMK4 are looking dull in Lightroom as compared to Canon EOS 7D. Let us help make this right.

We'd need some information to help you better:

    • Version of Lightroom you're using(Like Lightroom Classic 8.3.1)
    • Operating system and version (Like Mac 10.14)
    • A sample screenshot illustrating the dullness of images.
    • Have you done any editing to those images yet?
    • Did you applied any preset (in the camera or in Lightroom)?

    Thanks,

    Akash
