Re: Lightroom 6 wont run. Splash Screen won't go away. Task Mgr "Not Responding"

The same here.  The Adobe Applications Manager started to do some lenghty task... finished, and then Lightroom could be started, but after a minute it stopped.  And now this app manager is gone, and replaced by "Adobe Creative cloud".  If I open this, I can see "Lightroom classic" in my apps, but when I click on it, the LR splash screen hangs again.

I cannot be of help, but I do know that if the Creative Cloud Desktop App is installed, then Lightroom (Legacy v6) becomes a subscription version and definitely will not work unless you have subscribed to the Photography Plan.

Problems with activating v6 are now making it almost impossible to install and run.

The Photography Plan (20GB) is now the way forward. @ BUY PHOTOGRAPHY PLANS

If that is the case, it's just criminal that they don't tell you anything!  I have payed for Lightroom 6, it has worked fine for many years and now all of a sudden it stops, and instead of giving me any clarification, they just let me waste my time trying to find what's wrong.

I understand your dismay. Lr6 was released in 2015, so in 'computer years' is very old software. Adobe support staff cannot help with Lr6 (even they don't have access to activation servers) and if they send you to this forum, we cannot help unless other users have answers in the forums (which will be mostly out-of-date since all support and Lr app downloads ceased in January 2024)

Attempting to install Lightroom-Classic will not work unless you have a paid subscription.

It is unfortunate that we need to update both apps and hardware to keep up with inevitable changes.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
