It's 2025.07 and this problem still exists. 
How hard could it be to fix a slideshow feature in the "leading" photo editing software... ?!

    Hi @gemji_com, Thank you for reaching out, and welcome to the community! Since this thread is a bit old, starting a new one with all the details of your issue might be best. That way, your comments won't get lost, and you'll get the Help you need more quickly. I'll do it for you!

     

    Could you please share more details, like your system configuration (from Help> System info> Copy and paste it into a text file and attach it to your response)? Please explain your workflow. If the application freezes, are you getting any error codes? If so, please attach a screenshot with your response as well. What type of images are you working with? Does this happen with all kinds of pictures or certain ones? 

     

    While we wait, you can check out these fixes and see if they help.

     

    Try turning off the GPU in preferences: Go to Preferences> Performance and set the Use 'Graphics Processor' option to 'Off'

    Clear Lightroom Cache

    • Open Lightroom Classic.
    • Go to Edit > Preferences (Windows).
    • Click the Performance tab.
    • Under Camera Raw Cache Settings, click Purge Cache.
    • Optionally, reduce the Maximum Size if it's too large.

     

    Reset Preferences: To reset Lightroom Classic's preferences, close Lightroom, hold down Shift and ALT/ Option as you restart Lightroom, and then reset preferences.
