Recent upgrade Lightroom 13.1 crashes frequently

Just upgraded to LR 13.1 CC. I experience frequent crashes in a variety of different ops within LR. Examples are working masks, noise reduction, basic balancing of colours, cut-outs. In about 2 hrs working, I had to restart LR about 5+ times. A couple of crash reports have been uploaded to Adobe.

I reverted to the LR 13.0.2 and so far it responds much faster and no crashes.

LR 13.1 runs on a Microsoft Surface 5 with 16 Gb RAM (works reasonably, but in hindsight 32 Gb would have been a wise investment).

Any other

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s? Microsoft’s?

Straight crashes inside Lightroom 13.1 CC and submitted the automatic by Lightroom generated reports. I presume that it picks-up my with Adobe registered email account.

I had no issues with the Microsoft system. Could restart LR 13.1 CC, do a couple of edits following which the next crash manifested itself. As a matter of caution, I did restart the laptop at one stage, but the LR 13.1 CC crashes kept coming.

After reverting to LR 13.0.2 CC, I could continue to work without further problems.

"I presume that it picks-up my with Adobe registered email account."

That is not correct. You have to physically type an email address into the provided field. If you didn't I have no way to locate your report and act on it.

The next time it crashes, ensure you have entered your email address as it appears on this forum so that I can find it. Then, post back here and let me know.

Thanks!
