Recommendations for an AMD Graphic Card

My computer has a 570 AORUS MASTER motherboard with an AMD Ryen 7 5800X 8 core processor. It currently has an MIS AMD RX 580 Graphic Processor. Currently I’m still using Windows 10.

I’m having a problem with the GPU crashing when I use lightroom’s Denoise. I’ve tried uninstalling the card and software and reinstalling it again. It will come up and work until it was taxed by Denoise again.

I’ve been looking for another AMD Graphic card. I am not a gamer and I do not process any videos.

I would like to get a card that I can use with the latest versions of Lightroom, Photoshop, and Topaz. Currently. I’m also concerned about getting a card that will not only handle the processing that I do today but will still handle the AI growth of tomorrow.

I have just started my search. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I’ve been looking at the ASRock Radeon RX 6700 XT 12G. Does anyone have an opinion about the 6700? How about ASRock? Their card is somewhat less expensive than the MIS but is more aligned with what I can afford.

I am also facing this issue. After turning off GPU acceleration in Lightroom, it works without issues. My question is " If we are working without GPU support Why spend around 600$ for AMD GPU?" Isn't this an unnecessary waste of money and Power? Why don't AMD find the solution for this issue?

Just FYI, I have the same card (an AMD RX 580) in my machine, and it's rock solid. Not the fastest card in the world, but it handles AI Denoise flawlessly.

Right, point taken. Second thoughts 😉 Never very smart to get into these "which brand is best" discussions and I probably shouldn't have. Of course it's not really about the logo, but the whole configuration. What works well together. Maybe an AMD card works better with an AMD motherboard.

And the OP did specifically ask for recommendations for an AMD card.

Sorry about that. Can I take it back? 🙂

Thanks for responding, that was my thinking as well. I've read where some
have had issues with their cards not being recognized. It seems that they
got them working but they weren't always plug and play. I would like to
keep this process as smooth as possible.

I think the general consensus nowadays is that the Nvidia RTX series is better optimized for Adobe applications, and probably more sturdy and reliable.

But I would wait a little. At the moment, Photoshop has what appears to be a bug in v25.1, that causes GPU recognition to fail. These problems started all of a sudden about two weeks ago. The bug status is "investigating", and no firm answers yet.

Prior to this bug, the Nvidia RTX 30- and 40- series have been extremely stable and problem free, and RTX 3060 - 4060 perform very well in both Photoshop/ACR and Lightroom Classic.

My own two RTX's, 3060 in one machine and 4060 Ti in another, are still rock solid. Most people don't have any issues, but just as a heads up.
