Question

Reds are printing out orange in workflow from both lightroomcc and photoshop

I am using both photoshop and lightroom creative cloud.  My monitor is a 24 inch Dell that I calibrate with Spyder5plus.

My printer is a Canon Pro-10.  I’m working on a Mac retina laptop running Mojave.

The picture when viewed on the monitor looks great.  If I let the printer do the color management (colorsync) I get perfect duplication.  If I softproof using a profile, I get good results.  If I choose to let either lightroom or Photoshop manage color and assign a profile, the reds in the print lean heavily toward orange.  Over the last couple of days, I’ve tried every possible combination I could think of.  Another issue is that all of my Canon paper icc profiles have gone missing.  When I check my Library-colorsync-profiles folder, they aren’t in there, nor can I locate them anywhere on line.  I don’t think that has anything to do with the red/orange issue, but it might implicate the Canon driver somehow.  They were there until I updated the driver after updating Mojave.  Does anyone share a similar problem or have any ideas?  Thanks

I am having the same problem.  I always print out of LR Classic to my Canon Pro-1000 printer with no color problems until I updated to Mac OS Mojave.  My friend printed my picture for me with the same Mac and printer as mine, the only difference is that he did not update to Mojave.  We used the same print settings.  The photo colors came out correctly on his system, not the orange/peach as mine did.  It was suppose to be a reddish pink dahlia, but mine printed as a peach color.  The same thing happen with a red hat in another picture.

Seems as though it is a Mojave to LR problem.  Does anyone think the Apple and Adobe will fix this problem soon?

    Hi,

I am having the exact same problem with the reds turning out orange when I print from photoshop to my canon pro 10s. I am using Catalina on my macbook. I didnt have this problem when I was using an older OS.

When I print from preview the reds are red.

The info in the thread is over three years old and lots of changes have been made with Lightroom and Photoshop. Please indicate the exact numeric version of Lightroom, Photoshop and operating system you have installed on your computer.

I addition if your issue is specifically with Photoshop you should have posted in the Photoshop forum of the Community. This is the Lightroom Classic forum.

Try to look at this link:   Poor color printing in both Lightroom and Photoshop

Your problem might be similar to my issue, which is still not solved.

Try to print from another laptop that has Lightroom installed to your printer.  See if the problem still persists.  Or perhaps set up another user on your current laptop and try to print the same file from that user.  Another test would be (if you are on a mac) print your file from Preview and see what results you get.

I have isolate my issue to a corrupt Adobe user file.  I just can't get adobe to tell me which files could be the problem.  They keep telling me to set up another user account but that is going to create a lot of work and unexpected issues.

    Let us know what happens.

Test the output with this and tell us if you see the same issues:

Reinstall the Canon print driver and if it's anything like the Epson's, it will reinstall the paper profiles.

I downloaded and printed the test file you sent.  Thanks very much.  Once, again, the test print using printer colormatching (colorsync) was a very good representation of what I saw in my monitor.  When I printed it from with lightroom using Lightroom management and the same profile, the reds came out orange.

HOW it appears on the display isn't really important at this point, only the output which you report is still off. So it's either the profile or some user setting.

To determine if it's a profile issue, do you have another paper and profile you can again test with the same color reference file?
