Hello

Is there a way in lightroom classic to reduce the size of the previews to minimum previews in order to gain speed while moving files, export files or reduce catalogue size ?

best regards

So move the photos in your operating system, and re-connect Lightroom Classic to the new location, it will be much faster that way. Many people say this is the preferred way to move files anyway, despite the "conventional wisdom" to always move inside LrC.

Size of previews does not affect any of the things you listed.

What is the real problem you are trying to solve?

Thank you Dj Paige for your interest in my little problems.
I have hard drives with many images. They are "buffer" disks. They are not meant to last or stay in a library when I'm done working with the images. The directory structure has to change completely and I have to move files in large quantities. These file moving operations are almost instantaneous in windows explorer but in Lightroom it will take a full day to do all the operations at the speed it is going. I would have preferred to do it in lightrrom but I think I'll get by with windows explorer if it continues at the speed I'm going.
I know that if these data were on ssd m.2 it would go very fast but these images are on HDDs and with Lightroom I'm not making any progress.
Moving large quantities of file in Lr doesn't really work. Almost always some files are not able to be moved at once. So painfull.
