Reduced file size from HDR merge in Lightroom Classic

Hi

I have always used Lightroom Classic to HDR merge images. each image is typically 70mb and ofcourse the HDR image produced is much larger.

Since lightroom's update, the HDR image file size is now at roughly 20mb?? I'm having trouble opening the HDR files to edit.

Any help is appreciated. can i revert back to old settings for HDR?

Thanks

Are you saying

  • You cannot edit a new v13 DNG file created via Merge Photo HDR

or

  • You cannot edit a v12 DNG file created via Merge Photo HDR, made before v13

Lightroom Classic 13 uses a new compression method for the DNGs created by Merge to HDR and Merge to Panorama, so this is as expected. You cannot revert to the old settings without reverting to Lightroom Classic 12.

@JohanElzenga: Can I convert HDRs or Panoramas created in previous Lightroom versions with the new LR13 compression method? If so, how?

Not that I know, but you can of course recreate them.
