Removable Drives

Previous to the most recent version of Mac OS and Lightroom (I'm not sure which has created the issue) I stored all my files on an SSD and a RAID and worked off of those using lightroom. Lightroom will no longer allow you to add files from removable locations, instead only offering to copy the files as DNGs. I've had this workflow, which is quite effecient and makes backing up a breeze, for years and years. Anyone experiencing this issue? I have made sure there are no permission limits on the drives.

When it allows you to Copy the files, is that to the same external drive? Or must it be to a different drive?

And you state Copy as DNG, does it not allow you to Copy (not as DNG)?

It will only allow me to copy to the files to the Mac hardrive. It allows me to select DNG or just copy.

You haven't mentioned your OS or LrC version, but your description seems to align with  one of the issues arising from upgrading to macOS Ventura (https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/p-mac-ventura-known-issues-please-read-before-you-upgrade-your-os/td-p/13285146 )  If you recently updated to macOS Ventura, then make sure you also update LrC to 12.0.1

The update did not fix the issue for me
