Remove photos from LR Classic

I accidentally imported all of my photos from LR CC to LR Classic. How to I remove from Classic? I have been using LR CC (a newbie) and love it, but decided to learn LR Classic since I read it offered more. Somehow I imported all of my photos from LR CC into LR Classic which I did not want to do yet. How can I remove those photos from Classic? They are still in LR CC.

The problem is that if you remove those synced photos from LrClassic, that will result in all of them also being deleted from the cloud when you next enable sync in that catalog. Which is probably not what you want!

Yes, you could leave sync paused before removing the images from the Classic catalog, and the cloud images should then be safe....but it's a bit of a ticking timebomb which will go off should you inadvertently resume sync in that catalog. So probably the safest thing to do, assuming that the LrClassic catalog is only for "learning purposes" at this stage, would be to delete the catalog completely, then start another new catalog (give it a different name), but don't enable sync in the new catalog until you are ready to do so (now that you understand what happens when you do that).

Did you actually use the import dialog to import the photos. Your use of the word "somehow" maybe suggests that you didn't use import, but that you DID enable the Classic catalog to sync with the cloud (click on the cloud icon top right of the Classic window to see if sync is enabled). If that's what you did, you need to know that when you sync a catalog to the cloud, a full copy of all images that are already in the cloud (or are subsequently added to the cloud) will automatically be downloaded into the Classic catalog. A simple way to check is to look at the Catalog Panel in the Classic Library module to see if there is an "All Synced Photographs" collection showing there, and if so is the total similar to the All Photographs total just above?

So, tell us what you did first, as that will influence what action you can now take in Classic.

Thanks, so sorry to be late answering. That is exactly what happed. I synced the photos from the cloud; didn't mean to and not sure how I chose that, but I did. Now, can I remove those photos from Classic? I want to learn Classic before importing all of my photos. I have "paused" the sync.  I had a folder of some new photos that I wanted to import and thought that was what i clicked on, but I also synced over 400 photos from LR CC. I love LR CC and have been using it for about 2 years. I read that I could do so much more with Classic, so I have been watching tutorial videos. I am not ready for all of my photos in Classic yet. Thanks for your help.
