Reordering Error in Collections (still)

So this is still an error I experience at random times when re-ordering a small (10-12) batch of photos within a collection. Lightroom tells me something to the effect of not being able to move photos on disk or that are already in the collection (I closed the warning too quickly to be able to say verbatim).

This is a glitch I’ve encountered in many versions of LR Classic over the years. I think I have 4 closed threads on the topic already.

Anyone else?

The exact wording of error messages (and better, full-resolution screenshots of the entire LR window including the error) often provides useful clues. They enable more accurate searching in the forums and with google and can sometimes pull up seemingly unrelated posts that provide useful information.

So the next time it happens, grab a full-resolution screenshot (not a phone pic) of the entire LR window including the error.

Lightroom tells me something to the effect ...

It would be helpful if you could tell us the exact word-for-word message.

I understand but the error message appears randomly. I think it’s more important that there is an error than the message itself, however it appears more often after about the 8th instance of moving the order of images in a collection. Works fine the first 7 or so times, but by try 8(ish), an error message appears. Restarting LR clears the malfunction.
