Question

Retaining Lr settings when switching computer

How do I avoid losing edits of photographs when switching computers? I have switched from a 19"mac to 21"mac and have my images on a LaCie hard drive and thought I had lost them when loading Lr CC onto the new Mac. Checked back on the old computer and they are still there. How do I manage to switch to avoid any loss of edits? Any succinct help will be gratefully received. Thank you.

It's good that your images are on the external hard drive. Are you using Time Machine to copy all of your files to the new system? If yes, you should be able to plug your hard drive in and work as you did on your old iMac.

You'll need to deactivate Lightroom in your Account Settings if you won't be using the older iMac. To do this go into the Creative Cloud Manager icon > your photo or avitar > Manage Account > Manage Plan > Activate Devices.
