After I have made adjustments to an image, how do I save it to a folder in collections?

A collection is not a folder on your hard drive, but rather is a collection within your Lightroom catalog. To create a collection, go to the library module. There is a collection section. You can click on the "+" to name name a new collection. Then you can drag images to that collection. Another way to do it is to highlight the images you want to be in the collection. Then click on the "+"  and name the new collection and include those photos in the collection. Another way to do it is to name a new collection and then highlight images and then right-click on the collection name and choose to add images to that collection.

Having a copy of an image in the collection is just that, a copy. If you make an adjustment to the image in the collection that change is also made to the image in the folder.

One other note, to drag images to the collection you must place the cursor in the image content itself and not on the border of the image.

To expand on the answer above.

A collection in LR is a LIST of images you want to Group together for Displaying purposes.

It is not a Folder and no image is copied, moved or in any other way changed from where it is stored on your hard drive.
