Saving LrC back to PS

Each time I try to save a photo from PS to LrC I see it saved to the LrC hard drive folder, but not to the LrC Library where I can do any addtional edits. I've tried every format (tif, psd, jpg). No luck. Always goes to hard drive LrC folder exactly under that name, but never to LrC Library. The only thing I can do is save it to another folder under another name and Import. Thought this would be fixed with PS 2024, but no luck. Any ideas appreciated.

When you are finished in Photoshop, how do you save the image? Do you simply hit "Save", or are you using "Save as"? You must use "Save", not "Save as", but because you mentioned having tried .jpg as one as the formats, it sounds like you are using "Save as". You cannot set JPG as file format for Photoshop in the Lightroom preferences, so you cannot properly use "Save" and get a JPG...

Thanks for your reply. I have tried Save, Save As, Save as a Copy. And Command S (Macbook Pro). Makes no difference. Always saves back to the hard drive under that file name, but does not show in LrC Library Mode (or Develop) where I can work with it. If I do the same command again, LrC says that file already exists. Somehow it's hidden.

Thanks, everyone, for your help. Turns out I was able fix this problem in PS by doing an uninstall and reinstall PS 2024. The problem started when I uninstalled the Beta version.

Just a thought, check the sort order in that folder in LrC. Photos in that folder should be sorted by either capture date or file name.

Please indicate the exact version number of Lightroom Classic and macOS operating system.

Just a thought are you working with a Catalog that is synced with Adobe Creative Cloud?
