Scanning for Metadata updates with latest version of LRC

Ever since Light Room Classic updated with the latest version 15.0.1 whenever I open it, it is continually scanning for metadata updates. What previously only took several minutes now doesn't seem to ever stop.

Do you see an error message that states it is "Scanning for updates " ? No

Do you have the option in Catalog settings to " Automatically write Metadata to XMP selected" ?. Yes

My Win Laptop has no problem opening and is functioning in under a minute. It functions but continues to show it scanning.
