I want to left the damn colorsection open on right side. also left side colapses by itself, even tho I have things to do there!. This is not a good update, you messed it up. Why would you change UI after a long time of use. not good.

    Hi @Tranquil_soul11f0,

Thanks for reaching out. I can hear your frustration. When your editing flow gets interrupted by panels behaving unexpectedly, it's disruptive. dj_paige's suggestion about Solo Mode and panel auto-hide settings is a great first step. Let me build on that; Lightroom Classic has two levels. Panel groups (left/right columns), controlled by the triangle at the edge.

Panel sections within the right group (Basic, Tone Curve, Color, etc.) are controlled by Solo Mode and each section's open/closed state.

If you want both Light (the Tone Curve / Basic area) and Color (HSL/Color Grading) open at the same time, Solo Mode must be OFF. With Solo Mode on, opening one section automatically closes the others; that's by design, but it may be what's causing your issue.

Right-click any section header (e.g., right-click on the word "Color") > uncheck Solo Mode.

If the above doesn't help. A few questions that will help us assist you further:

    • Which version of Lightroom Classic are you running?

    • When you say "the color section," do you mean the HSL/Color panel, Color Grading, or something else? Just want to make sure I'm pointing you to the right area.

    • Did this behavior start after a specific update, or did it appear suddenly, as you mentioned: "This is not a good update..."? This helps us determine whether it's a setting that got reset during an update or a behavior change.

    • Are you using any multiple-monitor setup or custom display scaling?

Let us know the answers, and we'll get this sorted out for you.

    Best,

Maybe the settings got accidentally changed by the user?

Try changing the settings in the menu that appears when you right-click at the far left or far right of the user interface, and then select whatever settings you prefer.

Also try turning Solo Mode off. Right-click on any panel header and de-select Solo Mode.
