Select People Always Wrong

Question

I have a need to select the same person in many images. It always looks like the screenshot, and it ways picks random people. As you can see from this example, it's pretty obvious which is which. This bug makes the feature mostly useless to me. After all these years, I would have thought it would be corrected.

Please share a video of your workflow with the system info from the Lightroom Help menu > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

Did you create people masks & sync them with a set of images?
