Selecting multiple images

Okay I'm having issues with my Lightroom. I can't seem to select multiple images to sync. I can only select multiple images that are next to each other. On my Apple keyboard I used to click on an image than hit the (fn) button on the keyboard and then select the other image. I can't seem to do that now. Is there a setting I accidentally changed?

The shortcuts for selecting multiple images are the same as they are in the Mac Finder and most other Mac programs:

    • To select a continuous range of items, click the image at one end and Shift-click the image at the other end.
    • To select a discontinuous set of items, click the first image and Command-click other images.

The Fn key is never used for multiple selections on a Mac, so if you're pressing that key, that's the reason it isn't working. Use the Shift or Command key.

    Hey Conrad,

I have to come back to this subject of multiple image selection. Excactly like you have discribed with shift click and command click it has worked all time. Now I have upgraded to LrC 13.01 on my MAC with macOS 12.7 and sometimes it does not work anymore. Till now I have not found out under which conditions it does not work, but it appears and to switch off and restart LrC does not help. Preferences I have completely reseted and have also created a new archive with some new pictures. Unfortunetly as I said I have not found out a routine under which it happens. But perhaps somebody else is in the community with the same effect

Best regards and thx in advance for a helping hand

You’ve posted to an ancient thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same one you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better off posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information, including system information, a complete description of the problem, and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.

If the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.

    Thank you!

    Hi kellyl,

You may try and reset the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps.

Preference file and other file locations | Lightroom CC and 6

Also, you can check the correct workflow for sync settings in Lightroom.
