Set up External HD to use between laptop and desk top on a PC

I am using Lightroom Classic on my PC laptop. How do I put this on my 5TB external hard drive so I can either edit on my laptop or my desk top?

Simply move the catalog file to the external HD, using your operating system.

Then you will need to create relative paths for all the photos. You will have to move the entire hierarchy of your photos into the same folder as the catalog file. Do this once, re-connect the photos after the move, and then LrC should be happy when you conntect the EHD to either computer.
