Severe Blue Saturation and Hue Shift when using Camera Matching Profiles While Editing in HDR Mode

Hi everyone,

I’m encountering a significant issue with the HDR Output workflow in Lightroom (macOS) that seems to specifically affect blue tones in the highlights, particularly skies.

The Problem: When editing RAW files in HDR mode, if I use a Camera Matching Profile (e.g., Camera Standard, Natural, etc.) instead of an Adobe Color profile, increasing the Exposure slider causes blue highlights to become unnaturally oversaturated and "neon-like." As the exposure goes up, the blues undergo a severe hue shift and lose their natural gradient.

Test Environment & Findings:

• Cross-Brand Issue: I have confirmed this behavior with RAW files from Sony, Nikon, and Hasselblad. The result is consistent across all three brands.

• Comparison with OEM Software: Interestingly, when I process the same Hasselblad RAW files in Hasselblad Phocus with HDR enabled, this issue does not occur. In Phocus, the blues remain stable and natural even when pushing the exposure, whereas Lightroom seems to struggle with the color mapping in these specific areas.

• Profile Dependency: This issue is far more pronounced when using "Camera Matching" profiles than when using "Adobe Standard."

Is this a known issue with how Lightroom handles the highlight roll-off for blues in HDR mode when using non-Adobe profiles?

Attachments: I have attached the exported JPEG (with HDR) to demonstrate the issue. I only adjusted the Exposure slider; I did not touch any other parameters or sliders.
